(WJET/WFXP)– Long winters marked with large amounts of snow that seemingly take forever to go away are nothing new for the residents of Erie County, which has been named among the top 10 snowiest counties in the United States by a recent study.
A new study by LawnLove ranked the top 213 snowiest counties in the country, for which they could gather data on, based on average monthly historical snowfall rates from November through April from 1991 to 2020.

The study also looked at single and three-day historical snowfall records, and access to snow removal services, among eight total metrics. Scores were then made out of 100 based on the average score it received in all metrics and categories.
With all of those factors, Erie County, PA was ranked the 10th most snowy county in the country and the snowiest in Pennsylvania. Though oddly enough, it was not the snowiest Erie County, according to the study…
