Each month, health code inspectors in Chautauqua County visit restaurants and other spots that prepare food. The inspectors are tasked with making sure restaurants, schools, hotels, legions, and even fire stations are following the safety protocols.
They thoroughly review each restaurant’s operations to make sure the restaurants are not violating any health codes. Health code inspections reveal non-critical violations such as “Garbage storage areas not properly constructed or maintained, creating a nuisance,” and “Food contact surfaces not washed, rinsed, and sanitized after each use and following any time of operations when contamination may have occurred.”
Some restaurants get flagged for critical violations, such as “Food workers do not use proper utensils to eliminate bare hand contact with cooked or prepared foods,” or “Food from an unapproved source, spoiled, adulterated on premises.”…
