The celebration took place with a service held by Father Simon, who said the day is about faith, reflection and community following the Julian Calendar.

“The Julian calendar existed. The Gregorian Calendar changed in the sixteenth century, and so in that period of time, now the difference is 13 days, so again, although this is January 7, it’s January 7 by the Gregorian Calendar, but by the Julian calendar, it is December 25,” said Father Simon, an arch priest.
