Wednesday’s school board meeting for Erie’s Public Schools could lead to the beginning of a conversation about restructuring in the school district.
Long-time board member, John Harkins put an item on the agenda to discuss the possibility of reconfigurations of the middle and high schools. According to Harkins, he thinks the decision to merge schools in 2017 was rushed and he wants the board and the new superintendent to revisit the topic during Wednesday’s night’s meeting.
According to Harkins, “She’s got fresh eyes. She wasn’t here at the time. We have board members who bring their fresh eyes to this and I just think it is worthy to consider a pause and just decide. Are we happy with the path we are on or can we do better? I think we can do better.”…
