A Crawford County man who formerly worked for an agency that assists refugees and immigrants in Erie is accused by Erie police of stealing thousands of dollars meant to provide housing for those the agency serves.
Jeffrey A. Brooks, 58, of Guys Mills, was arraigned Jan. 12 on charges including multiple felony counts of attempted forgery, access device fraud, identity theft and receiving stolen property that Erie police filed against him Jan. 6 following an investigation launched in March.
Brooks was released on $50,000 unsecured bond following his arraignment and is tentatively scheduled to appear in court for his preliminary hearing Jan. 29, according to information in his criminal docket sheet…
