In June 2023, a girl’s long, braided hair got caught in the rear wheels or other moving parts of a go-kart she was driving at the Erie Sports Center complex in Summit Township.
The girl’s scalp was torn from her head. She underwent reattachment surgery but was left with scars and other disfigurement.
