Lake Effect Snow, Gusty Winds Produce Near-Whiteout Conditions

Lake effect snow and blowing snow made travel very treacherous across northern Chautauqua County beginning late Monday morning. Near-whiteout conditions occurred in areas of moderate of heavy snow in combination with wind gusts upwards of 40-50 MPH, particularly near the Lake Erie shoreline.
