North East mother sentenced for 2024 child endangerment case

(WJET/WFXP)– The North East woman whose child was found wandering a local street, filthy and naked, while keeping her other children locked away in a room filled with garbage and human waste in May 2025 has been handed her sentence.

According to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, Judge Daniel Brabender sentenced 31-year-old Elizabeth Pohl to 36-72 months in prison, followed by one year of probation.

Pohl pleaded guilty in November 2025 to three counts of first-degree felony endangering the welfare of a child, with prosecutors agreeing not to pursue another felony child endangerment charge, three felony counts of unlawful restraint, and misdemeanor reckless endangerment.
