The Erie County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a scheduled training exercise on Gannon’s Erie campus and Gannon University is informing the campus community and the public that the training will take place on the campus from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26 in the University Services Building at 406 Peach Street.
The University noted that there will be an increase of sheriff office vehicles and personnel in the area. Community members should note that this is a planned exercise, there is no threat to campus safety.
“Gannon University values its close partnership with the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, whose facility is located nearly directly in the center of our campus,” said Joe Garofalo, Chief of Police and Safety at Gannon University. “Their proximity and continued collaboration are critical to maintaining a safe campus environment. We are happy to provide an opportunity for the sheriff deputies to conduct training exercises to help ensure strong preparedness should an emergency ever occur on our Erie campus where we would need their assistance.”…
