Chautauqua County’s December Health Inspection Results

In case you missed it, each month, health code inspectors in Chautauqua County visit restaurants and other food-preparation establishments. Health inspectors visit businesses that prepare food, including restaurants, schools, hotels, legions, and even jails!

They thoroughly review each of the restaurant’s operations to make sure they are not violating any health codes. Health code inspections reveal non-critical violations such as “Accurate thermometers not available or used to evaluate refrigerated or heated storage temperatures,” and “Food not protected during storage, preparation, display, transportation and service, from potential sources of contamination (e.g., food uncovered, mislabeled, stored on floor, missing or inadequate sneeze guards, food containers double stacked).”

Some restaurants get flagged for critical violations, such as “Toxic chemicals are improperly labeled, stored or used so that contamination of food can occur.”…
