Have you noticed a lack of lighting on your evening commute? Several lights are out on I-79 between 26th and 12th street and it’s been an ongoing problem for a lot of drivers.
According to PennDOT representative Jill Harry, it’s not for a lack of trying..

She said that they are working on the problem but are facing a few bumps in the road.
“The system that we have along I-79, especially in that area up there around the city, it’s an antiquated system. So the lights and the electronics that run the lights are very old, so we attempt to maintain them as much as we possibly can. We have an ongoing contract to get people to get in there and fix things, but we battle against the fact that the systems are outdated,” Harry explained…
