Public comment period on PennDOT’s plans for 28 bridges ending soon

(WJET/WFXP)– PennDOT has a big plan in the works to repair and fortify 28 bridges across the five counties that make up northwest Pennsylvania and time is running out to offer your thoughts on it.

PennDOT said they plan on repairing and fortifying those bridges against any effects from flooding over the course of the next three construction seasons, wrapping up in 2029 and mostly taking place under or near them.

The deadline for public comment is set for Friday, February 6.

Repairs would include rock protection, streambed paving, concrete placement, repairs to deteriorated concrete, and removal, clearing and grubbing, along with possible minor guardrail work as needed…
