A broken boiler has put a chill on visits to a unique African American history museum in Erie. And with Black History Month just getting underway, it couldn’t come at a worse time.
It’s called the Historical Museum of Culture and the African American Experience at it’s located at 315 East 9th Street in the rectory of the former St. Mary’s Church.
The museum houses a first floor collection of impressive works by local black artists. But even more stunning are the pieces of history and artifacts displayed in several rooms upstairs showing the many people who shaped our nation and the African American experience.
