The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is lowering speed limits on major highways in Mercer County and the surrounding region because of severe winter weather.
PennDOT officials reduced the limit to 45 mph Friday morning for Interstate 79 starting at the Grove City exit at Route 208 and continuing north to the end of the highway in Erie County.
