Several Projects Federally Funded to Repair Bridges

Several projects to repair and fortify bridges in the northwest region to prevent future flooding are still open for the public to view and comment on. 28 structures in Crawford, Erie, Forest, Mercer, Venango, and Warren counties will receive bridge repairs. The repairs will depend on the needs of each location. The repairs will tend to the underneath or adjacent parts of bridges to provide including activities like rock protection, streambed paving, concrete placement, repairs to deteriorated concrete, and removal, clearing and grubbing. Some minor guiderail repairs might be included if needed.

No detours are expected while repairs are taking place. The repairs will begin in 2026 and are expected to continue until 2029. Federal funds will cover the costs of the repairs which are expected to cost between $2.5 million to $5 million…
