Cause determined for Sunday’s West 6th St. apartment fire

We have an update on a residential fire in the 200 block of West 6th Street that we previously reported on Sunday.

The fire, which occurred on Sunday evening, took crews about half an hour to get under control and the chief on scene said he believed that the fire started in a kitchen

While no one was injured, a few residents are displaced as their units received extensive damage.

Chief Fire Marshall Donald Sauer told us that the fire was accidental and caused by a maintenance worker
