Dozens of people got a warm meal in Perry Square on Wednesday thanks to the generosity of staff and volunteers from the Mercy Center for Women.
Their annual Soup and Bread meal continues to grow alongside the concerns over our homeless population in Erie.
When staff with the Mercy Center for Women started their soup and bread meal in Perry Square years ago, they didn’t expect it to grow so much and so quickly.
As Jennie Hagerty, the Executive Director of the Mercy Center for Women explained, “It has increased but so has homelessness, so Mercy Center for Women, my staff, my clients, my volunteers, we are just grateful to be here today, helping others.”…
