AHA presents EmergyCare with award for cardiac emergency care

(WJET/WFXP)– During cardiac emergencies, time is everything, and on Friday, EmergyCare was awarded by the American Heart Association for their work helping people who’ve suffered heart attacks and strokes.

The AHA presented EmergyCare with the Mission: Lifeline EMS Gold achievement at their Erie headquarters, crediting them for rapid and research-based care to people who’ve suffered the most severe forms of heart attacks and strokes.

The award is part of a national program from the AHA to improve emergency care for people with high-risk and time-sensitive emergencies, such as cardiac emergencies, from the time 911 is called through being discharged from the hospital.

Dr. Kacey Kronenfeld, the chairperson of the program, called EMS services for patients suffering from these emergencies arguably the most important link in the chain of survival.
