Prepare for freezing drizzle and black ice in parts of Upstate NY until 3 a.m. Wednesday

A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Tuesday at 8:28 p.m. for freezing drizzle and black ice until Wednesday at 3 a.m. for Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, Lewis, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties.

“As rain comes to an end this evening and areas of drizzle linger, temperatures around the freezing mark will lower below freezing in many areas. This will allow for wet roads, bridges, ramps, parking lots, driveways and sidewalks to become icy. Be careful for outdoor slippery spots overnight. If driving, untreated roads, bridges and overpasses may contain slick spots, and motorists need to remain aware for rapidly changing driving conditions,” states the weather service.
