$19.5 Million approved to renovate McDowell’s Gus Anderson Field

Millcreek Township School Board announced a new project with an estimated value of $19.5 million. McDowell High School was approved by the board for a renovation of their Gus Anderson field, to expand it and provide more amenities.

We visited the McDowell High School to speak with faculty on their thoughts about the proposed renovation and the director of athletics, Mark Becker, reasoned that the upgrade could be a game-changer for student athletes and band members.

“I know we have games, events and everything that happens out there that this is going to be a great spot for community, but I’m also excited for everyone of our student athletes and coaches that use it on a day-to-day basis,” Becker said excitedly.

Some of the new features that this remodel will bring include ADA-approved bathrooms on both sides of the bleachers, improved accessibility and even an amphitheater for the school band…
