Small Campfire Believed to be the Cause of Garage Fire

A fire was called in at 9:05 this morning next to Okey’s automotive.

The fire is not affiliated with Okey’s automotive, but a garage right next-door to it. Chief Fire Marshall, Donald Sauer, shared that they believe the fire likely started when “vagrants entered through an open garage door and built a small campfire inside the structure to stay warm.”

The roof was already in very poor condition, with pre-existing holes that were visible when firefighters inspected it from a ladder. The walls were blocked, which helped prevent the fire from spreading further through the structure. The fire is now contained. Fire crews are just finalizing the area to fully clear the scene…
