Eight teams from across the county were competing to be the best readers at a local library on Friday, looking to bring glory back to their high school.
Blasco Memorial Library hosted Battle of the Books, a regional reading competition where teams of 8 to 12 students tested their knowledge of 24 different books to claim a trophy for their school.

The competition came to the Blasco Library for the first time this year, and they’re hoping to bring it back in the future.
And while the event is fun and competitive, one event organizer said it’s also to build interest in reading.
