A man who planned a March 2024 robbery on Jamestown’s north side that resulted in the shooting death of a Dunkirk man and injuries to his two accomplices was recently sentenced in Chautauqua County Court. According to Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt, 39-year-old Evan Nix was sentenced on March 2nd to eight years in state prison and five years of parole supervision for his conviction on a charge of 1st-degree attempted robbery. Schmidt says Nix was the mastermind of a botched robbery attempt on March 18, 2024, where multiple gunshots were reported inside a residence at 839 Prendergast Avenue.
