The Warren Police Department are warning residents of a recent scam in the area. A citizen had been contacted over the phone by unknown males who informed the individual that they were the Chief of Police and a Sergeant.
The number used had been altered to appear as though it had come from the police station. Over the phone the individual was instructed to place money on their front porch where an unknown male had later gathered the money.
Warren Police would like to remind residents that they will never call for a monetary transaction, nor would they request the money be left unattended. Any citations are handled through the courts…
