Erie County restaurant inspections for March 11-18, 2026

At least once a year, Erie County Department of Health officials inspect all restaurants and stores that sell unpackaged food. Here is a list of violations recorded March 11-18.

6 critical violations

Cherry Speed Check, 607 W. 18th St. (Found moldy bread, dried out chicken, beef and rice that was spoiled; food found without covering and not in original packaging; microwave, cooler and deli cooler were very dirty; Cook top and pans stored with encrusted grease and other accumulation; Person in charge does not have adequate knowledge of food safety; no Serv-Safe food handler certification) Also, one noncritical violation. March 12

2 critical violations

Chipotle Mexican Grill, 4165 Buffalo Road. Harborcreek. (Mice droppings in several areas, including the drive-thru area, back of the house, underneath the front counter, and in the lobby, as well as on the ledges near the beverage system; spoons were found in the prep area, being used for food tasting.) Also two noncritical violations. March 16

1 critical violation

Valerio’s, 1803 E. 38th St., (Food-contact surface had food residue and was not clean to sight and touch: Knives used to cut meat and cheese for salads not clean and being stored in gap between table and cooler. Hoods above stove dripping grease, a repeat violation from April 15, 2025; the ice shoot for the pop machine had mold on the rim, and there was dust on exhaust vent.) Also three noncritical violations.
