Boil water order issued for Fredonia

FREDONIA, N.Y. — The Village of Fredonia and the Chautauqua County Health Department announced Friday that a boil water order has been issued, effective immediately.

According to officials, this is precautionary due to high turbidity levels leaving the water treatment plant. They warn that elevated turbidity can interfere with the disinfection process and could be a risk to public health.

All residents and businesses in the area are advised to boil water before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or food preparation. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute, and cooled before use…
