At least once a year, Erie County Department of Health officials inspect all restaurants and stores that sell unpackaged food. Here is a list of violations recorded March 20-27.
2 critical violations
Kirin Court, 5424 Peach St., Millcreek Township. (No chemical sanitizer being used on equipment and utensils after washing and rinsing them, and prior to use; Poultry and eggs stored in walk-in above pork, eggroll wrappers, and sauces. Poultry must always be stored on the bottom.) Also four noncritical violations. March 20
Dollar General, 8181 Avonia Road, Fairview. (The facility experienced a sewage backup on March 15. Wastewater seeped through the floor drains in the bathroom hallway and break room, filling the hallway and spilling into the office and back room. The department was not notified of this imminent health hazard. Additionally, the facility experienced an extended power outage on March 16 and the department was also not notified of this event.)
