Historic Diary Entry from War of 1812 Shared

A diary entry from a War of 1812 soldier dated March 30, 1814, records the march of 12 miles through Waterford or LeBoeuf in Erie County under Corporal John Withrow Jr. The entry also details a stormy night near Put-in-Bay Island, where about 80 regular troops boarded the ship Detroit, while others traveled on the Queen and Porcupine or remained for transport to the River Raisin.
