Scooter-riding suspect accused of credit card theft, making fraudulent purchases

Pennsylvania State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect accused of stealing credit cards from vehicles and making purchases at multiple stores while riding around on an electric scooter.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, on March 8, 2026, an unknown suspect removed credit cards from inside several vehicles parked near 100 Campbell Ford Road in Union Township, Berks County. The vehicles had been parked in the area for a half-marathon.

Shortly after the theft, police said the suspect used the victim’s credit cards at Walmart, Home Depot and Best Buy stores in Wyomissing. The unauthorized charges totaled over $5,700…
