Saturday is an day in the City of Erie as residents celebrate the anniversary of its founding.
Erie was officially founded on April 18, 1795, though it wasn’t incorporated as a city until April 14, 1851. Saturday marks a moment to reflect on the community’s history and to look ahead to its future.
Erie Mayor Daria Devlin shared what the celebration means to her:
“Well it’s lovely to use this as an opportunity to talk about what i think is the best time in Erie which is our summer. We are just thrilled to be here and celebrate Erie and all the wonderful things about it.”…
