New York State recently announced grants through its Homeland Security Program to enhance preparedness and response capabilities of 80 cities, towns, villages and counties across the state. That includes Chautauqua County and the City of Jamestown. Governor Kathy Hochul says Chautauqua County has been awarded a combined $260,418 through the Bomb Squad Initiative, Hazardous Materials Targeted Grant Program, and Explosive Detection Canine Team Grant Program. Meanwhile, the City of Jamestown will get $75,000 through the Tactical Team Targeted Grant Program.
