City of Erie opens applications for Love Your Block grants

(WJET/WFXP)– Homeowners in the City of Erie can now apply for this year’s round of Love Your Block Grants to make some improvements around their home.

The city opened applications on Friday and is accepting applications for mini-grants worth up to $2,000 until May 24, for residents living in the Central City, SNOOPS and Buffalo Road neighborhoods.

Grants are offered for exterior home repairs for things like gutters, handrails, windows and porches, with the city adding that applicants must live in their home, have their home in one of the three neighborhoods, not have delinquent utility bills or property taxes and be at 80% of or below the area median income.
