Man accused of crashing into EPD cruiser appears in court

The man accused of being under the influence when he crashed into an Erie police cruiser appeared in court this week.

According to court documents, 30-year-old Fnu Raman appeared before Magesterial District Justice Allison Scarpettign on Monday, April 27 for his preliminary hearing facing DUI and reckless endangerment charges.

Online court documents show all charges, including summary offenses, held for court and is still being held in the Erie County Prison on $20,000.

The accident happened at the intersection of West 12th Street and Lincoln Avenue just after 1 am on Sunday April 12 where both Raman and the officer were taken to the hospital and later released.
