The Town of Pomfret in Chautauqua County is set to receive $3.2 million for water infrastructure improvements, Congressman Nick Langworthy announced.
The money, a $1,261,000 USDA Rural Development loan and a $993,000 grant for a water main replacement project totaling $2.26 million and a $545,000 USDA Rural Development loan and a $409,000 grant for an additional water infrastructure project totaling $960,000, will fund water main replacement projects “aimed at improving reliability, safety, and long-term sustainability of the town’s water system.”
“Reliable water infrastructure is essential for protecting public health, supporting economic development, and maintaining quality of life in our rural communities,” said Langworthy. “These investments will help modernize aging infrastructure in the Town of Pomfret and ensure residents have dependable water service for years to come. Too many communities across our rural district are dealing with aging infrastructure systems that require significant upgrades. These projects are important investments in the long-term sustainability and safety of Chautauqua County communities and allow investment without any added burden to taxpayers.”…
