Lane County reports slight decline in homelessness, but thousands remain unhoused

LANE COUNTY, Ore. — The number of people experiencing homelessness in Lane County declined modestly over the past year, according to new county data, though officials say the figures continue to reflect a significant housing crisis.

The county’s Homelessness By-Name List identified 4,490 people experiencing homelessness during January 2026, a 7.5% decrease from January 2025 and a 3.4% decline from January 2024.
