EUGENE, Ore. — Two kittens rescued from a brush fire in Eugene are recovering and preparing for adoption after firefighters found them surrounded by flames and smoke earlier this week.
Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded to a brush fire on West 11th Avenue during the early morning hours of July 6. While battling the fire, Deputy Fire Marshal Meshell Bradley spotted one of the kittens in the burn area. Firefighters quickly located and rescued the second kitten.
With no immediate place for the animals to go overnight, 911 dispatchers took the kittens to the emergency communications center, where they kept them warm and cared for them until morning…
