$1.4M FEMA grant targets Blachly-Lane co-op’s storm repairs, part of $7M+ for region

More than $7 million in federal funding is headed to Oregon and Washington to help strengthen community resilience, restore critical infrastructure and invest in mitigation measures aimed at reducing future disaster damage, FEMA announced Thursday.

The money includes $1.4 million for the Blachly-Lane County Cooperative Electrical Association in Oregon for permanent repairs tied to the January 2024 winter storms.

FEMA said the funding is part of $584 million approved nationwide through FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities, Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs.
