Eugene woman says police missed chance to find missing 16-year-old

EUGENE, Ore. – A Eugene woman says a missing and endangered teenager had already come into contact with the Eugene Police Department before she was officially found, and she’s now questioning whether officers missed an opportunity to identify the teen.

The Oregon Department of Human Services issued a missing and endangered alert for 16-year-old Jaylynn O’Hara after she disappeared near Alton Baker Park on June 29. The agency later announced she was found on July 9, but did not release additional details about where she was located or the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
