Eugene installs cameras on Oak, Pearl streets for design data

EUGENE, Ore. – The City of Eugene installed temporary cameras at four downtown intersections to collect traffic data for a streetscaping project.

According to the city, the cameras were installed at Oak Street and 6th Avenue, Oak Street and 7th Avenue, Pearl Street and 6th Avenue, and Pearl Street and 7th Avenue. They will remain in place until Sunday, July 19, recording only during specific, pre-programmed time windows.

The cameras will collect general traffic count numbers and driving patterns. The information will not be used for enforcement purposes and will not identify people or their property, such as reading license plates…
