Man sentenced to 3 years in prison for fatal 2022 collision on Highway 99 in Eugene

A 49-year-old man was sentenced Monday, July 20, to three years in prison for killing a 62-year-old woman in a 2022 vehicle collision on Highway 99 in Eugene.

Curtis Dewayne Smith, of Eugene, was driving a 2009 Dodge 2500 pickup truck north and struck a Toyota RAV4 just north of Royal Avenue as the Toyota crossed the northbound lanes, according to published reports and court records.
