ALBANY, Ore. — On a 2-1 vote at their July 28 meeting, the Linn County Board of Commissioners approved sending a letter to the Oregon Department of Energy opposing the Muddy Creek Energy Park project.
Commissioners Roger Nyquist and Sherrie Sprenger approved the letter and Commissioner Will Tucker opposed it.
The one-page document states that the Board of Commissioners oppose the Muddy Creek Energy Park — planned about 10 miles east of Harrisburg and eight miles south of Brownsville — based in part on a five-page correspondence previously submitted by Planning Manager Alyssa Boles of the Planning & Building Department.
