Driver flees after hitting cyclist on Main Street in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A man riding a three-wheeled bicycle suffered serious injuries on Monday night after a car hit him and drove away without stopping to help, according to the Springfield Police Department.

SPD officials said officers responded to the 4500 block of Main Street on July 27 at 7:53 p.m. The 39-year-old man was riding westbound when a car struck him. The car’s driver didn’t stop to provide aid or call emergency services. The man’s injuries are serious but not life-threatening. Officers obtained video footage from a nearby business showing what they believe is the car involved in the crash. Springfield Police released still shots from the footage showing the car.
