A judge in the Lane County Circuit Court granted a request to postpone the trial for a $16.3 million lawsuit against the University of Oregon, filed by former student Olivia Rose Edwards, who was paralyzed by a fallen tree on campus in February 2025.
The trial was originally scheduled for Sept. 16 and is now set for April 6, 2027.
Edwards filed the lawsuit against the university in October 2025, and it was later expanded in March to include Fortis Construction, Inc., the contractor renovating Villard Hall and University Hall at the time she was injured…
