EUGENE, Ore. — A fire damaged multiple backyard structures in Eugene early Friday morning before firefighters were able to stop it from spreading to nearby homes, according to Eugene Springfield Fire (ESF).
Firefighters were called to the area shortly before 6:30 a.m. after receiving a report of smoke without an exact location. The first engine crew searched the area before locating the fire behind a home at 4516 Susan Court.
Fire officials said the properties in the area meet near Interstate 5 in a triangular configuration, allowing the fire to spread from one backyard to neighboring properties…
