Urban Fondue and Bartini Are Coming Back, in Oregon City and Eugene

Urban Fondue and its sibling bar Bartini are reopening with two new locations, one in Oregon City and another one in Eugene, according to the company’s own website. Exact addresses have not yet been released for either site, though the announcement marks a genuine comeback for two restaurants that closed permanently in February after more than 20 years in Portland’s Northwest District.

The restaurant opened in 2004 at 2114 NW Glisan St, just off the lively 21st Avenue corridor, building a loyal community around cheese and dessert fondues, cooking broths and shareable entrees. Bartini, its adjacent cocktail lounge, opened the following year and became known for a martini list running well past 100 options. Both restaurants operated with shared staff and a connected dining experience, and their closure this year came after the death of their longtime general manager in 2024, alongside broader challenges facing Portland’s restaurant scene…
