Two drivers were arrested on DUII charges for separate incidents after the Eugene Police Department (EPD) said they were each caught driving the wrong way on one-way streets in Eugene on consecutive nights.
The first incident happened at 1:10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 4 on East Sixth Avenue near High Street, which is a one-way street for westbound traffic only. A Eugene police officer driving westbound saw headlights coming toward him and conducted a traffic stop.
Police identified the driver as Samuel Coleson Witherspoon, 36, of Silverton. EPD said Witherspoon admitted to drinking alcohol and was given a field sobriety test before he was arrested for DUII and reckless driving. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.14 percent…
