EUGENE, Ore. — The Parks and Open Space Division of the City of Eugene Government accounced that the Spencer Butte trailhead parking lot will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 15, through Thursday, Sept. 17, to allow for the removal of approximately 35 fallen trees from the Spencer Butte challenge course area.
The trees were felled during the 2024 ice storm and will be removed from the site. Park officials said no standing trees will be removed during this project.
