Businesses and residents affected by the Bug and Hawk fires may now be eligible for low-interest federal disaster loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
The SBA issued a disaster declaration Sept. 11 covering the fires, which occurred between Aug. 8 and Sept. 9 in Washoe County. The declaration also includes the contiguous Nevada counties of Carson City, Churchill, Humboldt, Lyon, Pershing, and Storey, along with several counties in California and Oregon.
