In another example of the culture within the Eugene Police Department, on Sept. 17, its public information department made a Facebook post that included a joke that promoted angering a woman by asking when her “due date” is. It was deleted within hours and no immediate explanation, or apology, followed.
The post follows a national trend where the police post a photo of what speed registered on a speed-gun and caption it with a story or joke.
In the case of EPD’s Sept. 17 post, the photo was that of a speed-gun behind a stopped motorcyclist.
