EUGENE, Ore. – Eugene police arrested a driver after an officer saw him blow through a crosswalk with people in it and run multiple stop signs in downtown Eugene, according to the Eugene Police Department.
EPD officials said that, at 9:36 p.m. on Sept. 16, an officer watched a car approach a four-way stop at West Broadway and Willamette Street. People were in the crosswalk, but the car kept going. It then rolled through two more intersections without stopping completely.
The officer pulled over the driver, identified as 35-year-old Gregory Todd Dennis II, of Roseburg. After talking with Dennis, the officer believed he was under the influence and arrested him for driving under the influence. In the driver’s side door, the officer spotted two devices used to consume drugs with a white powdery substance inside. Officers also found packaging materials, pipes, tinfoil and a container with a trace amount of a powdery substance that tested positive for fentanyl…
